Croatia // Central Dalmatia

Central Dalmatia

The Split Riviera stretches fromTrogir in the north to Dubci in the south, including the cities of Kaštela, Makarska, Omiš, Podstrana, Solin and Split. The largest city of Croatia and the second most populated, Split is on the UNESCO World Heritage list since 1979. The city is well known for the Palace of the Roman Emperor Diocletian.
From its harbour, renowned during the ancient times, we have access to all islands in Central Dalmatia, like Brac and its superb sand beach "Zlatni Rat", located in Bol. South of this village, we can find the island and the city of Hvar, the latter being reputed for its medieval fortress, its cathedral, its lavender fields and its night life. Between Split and Makarska, Omiš, ancient harbour of pirates, offers today the pleasure of doing rafting on the river Cetina.
