Day 2. Mostar & Imperial vineyards
9AM Start & Bike Pick-up: Mostar PATH: Mostar - Buna - Blagaj The cycling tour starts in Mostar, by bike we will visit historical sights with a view on the Old Bridge. We leave the town alongside the river Neretva, and by Buna we reach the source of Bunica in the old town of Blagaj. A beautiful village-town situated 12 km from Mostar where we visit the Dervish tekke, built at the source of the Bunica, above which we climb Stjepan Fortress. Break: Buna River Source Wine route: Imperial vineyards We Cycle back to Mostar along the wine road in the heart of Herzegovina, the most important vineyards in the region, getting to know the local tradition of producing the famous varieties of wine žilavka and blatina. PATH: Mostar - Along the Neretva River - Roman Villa The cycling tour starts in Mostar with a visit to historical sites, including the Old Bridge. Leaving the city, we follow the Neretva River and the Buna River to the source of its tributary, the small river Bunica, in the medieval village of Blagaj. Break: Mogorjelo Roman Villa & Ottoman Citadel Continuing along the Neretva River, our first stop is at the Roman Villa Mogorjelo, built in the 4th century. Then, through the karst of Herzegovina, we make several stops at viewpoints and rest areas until we reach the old Hutovo railway station. After that, we descend towards the Adriatic coast.
