Day 2. Bled Lake
Hike: Vintgar Gorge A kilometer long canyon through which the Radovna River flows. Half the way is over bridges, and the other half along very narrow paths. At the end, there is a beautiful waterfall, Šum, from where one climbs the Hom hill which offers a beautiful view of Bled and its surroundings. Length: 9.5km (1km ascent) Lowest point: 500m Elevation: 200m Bled Castle In the 10th century, a fortress was built on a high cliff, which was rebuilt and expanded several times in a thousand years. Today it is used only for tourism. Free time for lunch: Bled Bled Island By traditional Pletna boat: a family tradition, since 1590. Church of the Assumption of Mary: An ancient center of pilgrimage. Climb the 99 steps and ring the bell as you wish. Hike: Osojnica Hill Osojnica is a hill that rises above Lake Bled and offers a unique view of the surroundings. A very popular place for photos. Day 3. Julian Alps
Transfer:Bled - Planica - Kobarid Planica: Famous the ski jumping center of the world From there a path leads to the Tamar valley, where the Nadiža waterfall is located. Length: 7.5km (1km ascent) Lowest point: 900m Elevation: 180m Source of the Sava River Zelenci: A nature reserve that creates a marsh around the source Two artificial lakes in Jasna: were built after the Second World War, are still popular excursion places today. Battle of the Isonzo Vršič pass: at 1611 masl, it connects the regions of Gorenjska and Primorska. Russian Chapel: Built by Russian military prisoners on the site during World War I, is an eloquent reminder of the horrors of war. Lunch: Hut Kobarid Museum: founded in 1990 with the aim of preserving, researching and presenting the First World War, in particular the Soča front. |

Length: 10.5km (3km ascent) Lowest point: 850m Elevation: 240m By gondola: Vogel Ski Center, views of the Julian Alps Lunch Vogel Savica Waterfall After a good twenty minutes of ascent, we reach the waterfall, which is the source of the longest river in Slovenia. Day 5. Medieval Villages & Vodiška Mountain
Transfer: Bled - Radovljica Medieval town of Radovljica: developed in the 14th century on the river terraces above the confluence of the Sava Bohinjka and the Sava Dolinka. Medieval walls with a defensive moat complete the unique examples of medieval architecture in the region. Brezje pilgrimage centre: Pope John Paul II also visited here Kropa, cradle of the forge: A visit to the blacksmith´s museum is a veritable walk through the history of this craft. Lunch Hiking: Vodiška Mountain A hike through the forest will take us to a beautiful clearing at the edge of the Jelovica plateau. There we will take a refreshment in a mountain hut. Day 6. Lipanski & Mrežce Peak
Transfer: Bled -Start Point Hike: Lipanski & Mrežce Peak Located near Bled, on the edge of the Pokljuka plateau, at almost 2000 m/el., the picturesque peak of Lipanski is an easily accessible summit, from where we enjoy a superb view of the central Julian Alps, overcoming Krma Valley. This path, passing through the pretty mountain refuge of Lipanca, also open in winter, is an ideal route for hikers. Mountain picnic Start point: Parking, located at 1300 m/alt. From this parking lot, let´s head north, through a forest. Then, a few hairpin bends lead us to the Lipanca pasture, renowned for its pleasant mountain refuge. From there, we leave to access the summit of Mrežce. We thus took the simplest path allowing us to benefit from a closer view of the highest Slovenian mountains. Day 7. Ljubljana & Postojna Cave
Transfer: Bled - Postojna - Ljubljana Postojna Cave This cave is made up of a tangle of more than 20 km of caverns and galleries. In 1872, a narrow-gauge railway line was built inside the cave. Predjama Castle: 10 km from the cave we discover Predjama Castle which was built halfway up a limestone cliff. Ljubljana, capital of Slovenia In 1821, the capital hosted the Congress of Laybach, which set the European geography for the following years.
