Prenj known as Herzegovinian Himalayas, is one of the most beautiful mountain areas of the Dinaric Alps and has an unforgettable natural environment because of its biodiversity. Landscapes ranging from krast and glacier valleys to steep slopes and canyons where rivers flow throughout, in colder months snowy peaks takeover, the landscape proving to be an example of intense and daring beauty. The wild beauty of Prenj, is one of extreme landscapes and spaciousness of territory a reason that makes it an especially attractive place to visit, not only for climbers but any nature lover.The peaks of Prenj are stunning and interesting terrains for hikers who like to observe landscapes streaked with white snow and green mountain pine. The highest peak of Prenj is Zelena Glava.
The hiking path starts from Mountain house Rujište (1050m) and leads trough a thick pine forest heading northwards to Bijele Vode vally. Here, awaits mountain lodge "Bijele vode" (1450 m) with the capacity for 20 people where it is possible to spend the night with a prior reservation. Ruijste and Bjele vode is the two water access points. From here you can go to Prijevorac (1700m) and towards the highest peak of Prenj, Zelena Glava (2155 m) till we make our way back to the starting point of Ruijste.
