Discover our heritage with a guide
In our guided tour, we will take a walk through the Mljet National Park. Mljet National Park includes the northwestern part of the island of Mljet, which covers an area of more than five thousand hectares of protected land and the surrounding sea. Due to its natural features and cultural and historical monuments, the area was declared a National Park in 1960. The land area of the park is covered with forests of Aleppo pine, holm oak and maquis. The Big and Small Lakes in the park represent a unique geological and oceanographic phenomenon in the karst.

The island is rich in cultural and historical heritage that can be traced from the time of the Illyrian tribes, the Roman Empire, the Republic of Dubrovnik to the present day. The islet of St. Mary in the Great Lake with a Benedictine monastery and a church from the 12th century are a significant monument in this context and represent a symbol of the park.
