Fortica & Austro-Hungarian Fortresses, Mostar & Blagaj
Start point: Mostar

The cycling tour starts in Mostar, from where we head to Fortica, a popular viewpoint offering panoramic views of the city and the Neretva valley. The ascent leads to Austro-Hungarian fortresses, which have protected this area for centuries, providing a unique opportunity for photography and historical exploration.

City of Mostar
Mostar, built along the Neretva River around the Old Bridge, is known for its unique houses and monuments. The city preserves the character of Ottoman and Austro-Hungarian architecture, combined with authentic Herzegovinian spirit, maintaining traditional craftsmanship for centuries.

Austro-Hungarian Fortresses
The ascent to the fortresses offers impressive views of Mostar and the surrounding valley. These fortifications testify to the strategic importance of the region during Austro-Hungarian rule, and many are well preserved and open to visitors.

Blagaj
We descend to Blagaj, a settlement at the Buna River spring. We visit the Dervish Tekke and the medieval fortress of Herceg Stjepan Kosača, one of the best-preserved monuments in Bosnia and Herzegovina. The Buna spring and surrounding landscape make this place perfect for rest and photography.

Return to Mostar
The ride back to Mostar takes us through picturesque Herzegovinian landscapes, combining history, nature, and cultural heritage into a unique cycling adventure.
