Cavtat, the antique of Epidaurus, was an important part of the Roman colony in the Croatian region. Today, Cavtat is the largest and the only urban center in Konavle. It is located on the peninsula of Rat, which surrounds the well protected bay together with the peninsula of Sustjepan. In its harmonious architecture, the centuries-old natural and material affiliation to the Dubrovnik Republic can be observed.

Ćilipi is a settlement located in the district of Konavle, 22 km from Dubrovnik. From the 14th century Čilipi and the whole Konavle region came under the governance of the Dubrovnik Republic. The center of the village is dominated with the large church of St. Nicholas, which dates back to the 15th century. We start the hiking tour in Cavtat and finish in Ćilipi by St. Nicholas church.
