The Croatian National Tourist Board Office for Benelux organized a virtual tasting of Croatian wines and a presentation of Croatian tourist potential with an emphasis on eno-gastronomy for 12 specialized journalists from renowned Dutch and Belgian media such as Delicious, Food and Friends, Elle Eten, Lekker, National Geographic Magazine, Columbus Magazine, Feeling, Gael and others.
"During the virtual event, which lasted about two hours, the journalists actively participated in the discussion about wines, their characteristics and the combination of wine and food, and agreed that this is a product which Croatia can offer to the most demanding guests without hesitation. The aim of the event was to introduce journalists and potential visitors from the Benelux countries to Croatia as a safe, desirable and attractive tourist destination that is easily accessible to these markets and roads", said the director of the CNTB Office for Benelux
Mr. Ivan Novak, adding that journalists during the event get acquainted with the
Safe Stay in Croatia project, the current situation in Croatia, news in the flight schedule of the national airline Croatia Airlines from Amsterdam and Brussels to Croatia, and the expectations and forecasts for the upcoming season.

Before the virtual event, journalists specializing in the eno-gastronomic segment of the tourist offer received at home some of the most representative varieties of Croatian wines, namely Frankovka and Graševina from Slavonia, Malvasia from Istria and Plavac from Dalmatia, with a piece of Pag cheese. A presentation of the tourist potentials of these regions was held in addition to a virtual wine and cheese tasting, in cooperation with Croatiangrapes.com, the promoter of Croatian wines on the Dutch market. The gathered journalists were greeted directly from the island of Hvar by
Mrs. Ivana Carić, a winemaker from the sunniest Croatian island, who presented the Plavac mali variety.
This interesting presentation is just one in a series of innovative virtual events organized by the CNTB Office in Benelux. Namely, in cooperation with the Tourist Board of the City of Dubrovnik, a virtual press conference was organized last week, which included a live video call from sunny Stradun with the performance of the "klapa" singers.

The cycle of virtual activities of the representative office will continue in April when a presentation and business workshop will be organized between small and luxury hotels from the Stories group, Croatia Airlines and specialized travel agents and tour operators for the luxury segment from the Benelux countries. Additionally, at the end of April, in cooperation with the tourist boards of Lika-Senj county, Zadar county and Šibenik-Knin county, a presentation of the potential for active holidays in Northern Dalmatia is planned, which will be intended for journalists, influencers, tour operators and travel agents since the theme would be products which will be in the focus of consumers in 2021.
