Ptuj is located on the Drava, downstream from Maribor, in the traditional region of Styria and in the natural region of the Pannonian Plain, in the district of Podravska. Ptuj is an old city where it is possible to live many new experiences. The castle overlooks the city whose oldest wine cellars overlook the streets where one of the most colorful carnivals in the world takes place with the famous characters, whose originality has also been recognized by UNESCO.

Day 2. Alongside Drava river & Maribor

Our bike tour starts in the Hotel Primus, which is situated next to the river Drava. We cycle towards the Slovenian-Styrian metropolis of Maribor along the Drava cycle path. We ride back along the famous Drava cycle path towards the oldest Slovenian town of Ptuj, which lies between vineyards and on the Drava River.

Day 3. The Haloze Vineyards

PATH: Ptuj - Haloze
Colles or Halonga - it doesn´t matter which name today´s "Haloze" is derived from. Both words mean "hilly world". Wine has been grown on the sunny slopes for 2000 years. Typical images of the Haloze hills still complement the untouched nature that gives the place a different rhythm.

Day 4. Jeruzalem´s Vineyards

PATH: Ptuj - Ormož – Jeruzalem - Moravske Toplice
We cycle along Slovenia´s largest permanent lake Ptuj where more than 230 species of bird’s nest. On the side road we cycle through the Slovenske Gorice region in the direction of the Kog/Jeruzalem wine route and to the winery. Further we go to the town of Ormož where we visit the Ormož Castle which dates back to the 13th century. Here we look at the chateau park with its own specimens of exotic trees, which are one of the most beautiful in Slovenia with their diversity.

Day 5. Austrian landscapes & Nature Park Goričko

PATH: Moravske toplice - Austria - NP Goričko
Drive through Pannonian villages to Murska Sobota and further in the direction of Austria and Bad Radkersburg. Then further along the border with Slovenia to Goričko Nature Park and winery on the Slovenian side, with a snack if desired. Cycling on the Slovenian side through slightly hilly landscape of Goričko Nature Park and Pannonian Plain to Terme 3000 Moravske Toplice.

Day 6. Croatian landscape & River Mura

PATH: Moravske toplice - Croatia - Mura
Easy drive through the Pannonian plain and typical Pannonian villages to the Mura river, where we take a ferry across the Mura river in Bistrica. Continue until Razkrižje on the border with Croatia (bioenergy points and Ivanov Izvir spring) . Over the border at Gibina we come to the Croatian region called »Međimurje«. Drive to the river Mura and St. Martin on Mura river (the east-northern point of Croatia, ship mill, ferry, ethnological collection), over the bridge at Hotiza the path leads us back to Slovenian side and towards Moravske Toplice

Day 7. Hungarian landscape & Lake Bukovnica

PATH: Moravske toplice - Hungary- Lake Bukovnica
This route leads us through the Goričko Landscape Park to Hungary, to a sparsely populated area. Opportunity to visit a pottery workshop in the village of Magyarszombatfa. Via Szentgyorgyvolgy and Nemesnep back to Slovenia. Weiwter we go to Kobilje and Lake Bukovnica with the St. Vitus water spring, a popular destination with about 50 bio-energy healing points, stay. The route takes us through the village of Filovci, known for its pottery tradition - continue to Moravske Toplice to the hotel.
